The Confederation of Indian Industry
( CII ) and City & Guilds have launched a nationwide ‘Skills Initiative' to develop and spread the much needed, internationally
approved and accepted, occupational skills amongst India 's current and potential work force. This aims to make India the ‘Skills Capital of the World' and to create a skilled and productive workforce that
is equivalent to international standards of quality,
services and productivity.
A massive skill up gradation and training initiative is planned to
cover over one million people across India in the next two years.
Various sectors and industries like Hairdressing and
Beauty Therapy, Agriculture, Construction, Food Processing, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Travel and Tourism and
many more have been identified for the drive.
The training for these skills would assist fresh candidates in acquiring new skills and experienced workers could use this to upgrade their skills
and get them certified. The City and Guilds certifications which
are valid in over 100 countries would afford formal and widespread recognition to the candidates within the

Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy International Vocational
Qualifications ( IVQ ) for Levels 1, 2 and 3.
